If you want somewhere cheap to crash:
Stay aboard the USS Hornet by purchasing a Captain membership or by purchasing a Petty Officer membership and adding the “Stay Aboard May 29th & 30th” for $60 to your cart. Enjoy the ship from Friday to Sunday, uninterrupted!
Another inexpensive option is the Marina Village Inn or one of the motel/hotels in Alameda, CA. There are typically 2 star hotels, and Alameda is generally pretty safe.
If you want something near a 24-hour Denny’s that is 3 or 4 stars, also has room service, and more amenities, stay in Emeryville. It is very close to the venue, and has several large hotels with views of the bay
If you are flying in - especially into OAK consider staying near the Oakland Airport at one of those hotels.
Avoid the Oakland City Center Marriott; it is $51 to park, and that is not even in a secure lot. Hence, we didn’t list them here as a suggestion. Also, avoid anything near the Oakland Coliseum, Lake Merritt, E. 12th Street, and most of east and west Oakland. Those areas are typically higher crime and not the best places to stay.
