3 days of fun in the heart of the San Francisco Bay with DJs, vibe spaces, panels, bars, and furries across the ship's adventure-filled decks!
The only furry con on an aircraft carrier
Galactic Camp® is a one-of-a-kind furry festival that takes place on the USS Hornet Air, Sea & Space Museum - an aircraft carrier docked right on the San Francisco Bay.
This event spans 3 days with multiple music stages (live bands, DJs, entertainment), including 3 nights of incredible dances, furry-themed bars serving cocktails, beer, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks.
A whole weekend of fun
During the daytime you we hosted lots of panels and programming. The ships crew ran tours of the ship, including the engineering behind an aircraft carrier, the weapons, flight deck, engine room, and more!
We had a Dealer’s Den packed full of furry shopping, Food Trucks, a German Beer Garden, scavenger hunt, board game rooms, and video gaming. Oh, and don’t forget fursuit games, a dance competition, and even a furry-run cafe with pizza cones!
New this year
We expanded the con space bigger and better than ever! New panel rooms and activities are open below deck. We will also have a After Dark Festival.
With the full camp experience, you can stay aboard overnight! This is available for the Petty Officer and Captain reg tiers. You can also reserve an onboard stateroom for you and your friends!
How it all started
Galactic Camp® started out in 2018 as a one-night furry party at Faction Brewing in Alameda, before growing to a 1000-person event on the USS Hornet in 2019.
Now, we’ve expanded it to a full 3-day convention. Lots of panels, a dance competition, dealer’s den, dances, and more, but with a whole new twist on an aircraft carrier! All proceeds support the USS Hornet Museum a 501(c)3.

Furries are a subculture of people who are interested in anthropomorphic animals, which are animals with human-like characteristics.
Members of the furry fandom may create and wear costumes (known as fursuits) of their fursonas (their animal persona), attend furry conventions and events, and participate in online communities.
The furry fandom is primarily focused on art, literature, and role-playing games centered around these anthropomorphic characters.

No! While many of our attendees are furry the community is welcoming of all.
Burners (those who attend the Burning Man Arts Festival) are also highly present at Galactic Camp® with our last event featuring art cars and burner art projects.
This year we plan to partner with other burning man camps to bring more art and entertainment and create a unique inclusive magical convention.

Yes! While our previous event in 2018 and 2019 were 21+, and 2025 was all ages, in consultation with our community partners we are focused on an 18+ format for our 3 day event aboard the USS Hornet.
The evening dances (after 7pm) where we open the bars at the convention will be limited to 21+ but there will be plenty of activities during the daytime for all to enjoy, with sensory spaces, vibe rooms and many exhibits for all to enjoy.

Yes! Purchase a Petty Officer or Captain Ticket and select the option to stay Friday and Saturday night.
For Petty Officers this is a $60 item to add at checkout. Captains can stay aboard at no additional cost.
